Words were said and things had been done. Arranged marriages hardly work out. Two months in and they called it quits.
But every night she’d call him over. It was always an emergency.
Tonight it was the mysterious case of the missing tv remote.
As he pretended to find it once more, love found them.

Re arranged v love marriages, Google statistics about how they compare and you might be surprised. I had heard that over the years. Now, add the qualifier “happy” to the mix, and who knows where it will lead? Here’s a link to an article from Psychology Today on the subject (this has nothing to do with your poem, which I think works very well, and I grinned): https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-science-love/201208/arranged-vs-love-based-marriages-in-the-us-how-different-are-they

Arranged Marriage is always a gamble, some does long innings, some short. Some hits jackpot while some becomes loosers in a jiffy. Anyways in urs it turned out to be hitting it off inspite of the initial resistence.
