No

She might wear a tiny dress,

Trot around like a hot mess.

She might be the type

That’s all about the hype.

She might even have a drink,

Giving everybody something to think.

But,

Bare skin isn’t an open invitation,

For narrow minds to jump to conclusions.

Her attire may not be by your books.

There’s more to a woman than how she looks.

No simply means no.

And that is all you vultures need to know.

6 Reasons I hate being a Woman.

  1. Why does everyone have to fight for my equality? Did you know that fighting for my equality makes me feel like less of an equal? Damn you all. Hate on me like you’d hate on any man. That’s all we women want! Maybe even be a little disrespectful occasionally!
  2. Holding the door for me is the most offensive thing anyone has ever done. Are you trying to imply that I don’t have functional arms? HUH?
  3. I never asked to go to school? Whoever it was, that fought for women’s right to education in India – Fudge you! You son of a biscuit. I don’t remember the last night I slept, thanks to you.
  4. Why must you objectify me? Compliment me when you see me on the streets? Why describe me with adjectives like beautiful and pretty? No. How about you just say neutral things like, “Hey! That’s one plain lookin girl”. That would be sublime.
  5. You fashion designers have another thing coming. Why so many choices? Every time I go shopping I feel like I’m doing Math. Find X when Y is a crop top with daisies. Damn.
  6. Don’t even get me started on my period. I never asked to be responsible for the miracle of child birth? Why give me these god like capabilities? I’m fine being ordinary and useless. Thanks.

I hope you enjoyed that humorous take on feminist views! What do you think? Please leave a comment. 🙂 I feel like most people don’t appreciate all the good the world does for women and all the respect and love we get. It’s a great time to be a woman. I wouldn’t have it any other way!

– The Obsessive Writer

Survival of the fittest

Mom told me when I was ten, “Being a good person is very important. Never let anyone change how pure and forgiving you are. But don’t ever let someone use your niceness against you”. That ‘warning’ didn’t exactly make me any less naive but, I did look at the world from a different perspective. Every day of life has been an adventure, with me trying to figure out how the world works. Endless questions, obsessions and certain moments of truth, aren’t they what life’s all about?

Why do we ask for advice from other people? When no one can fully understand another person. We each have entirely different reasoning and beliefs. This is something I have accepted truly only today. It is very important to be happy with who you are. You’re amazing as an individual person. Don’t ever let anyone tell you otherwise. But, revealing exactly who you are to the whole world is not a good idea. As good as people are, they can also be pretty sly. Those people whom you think dropped down from heaven, they all have two sides.

It is even more important to know yourself. You can’t go about conquering the world, when you’re not sure what you want in the first place. Give everything a chance. Thing’s aren’t always what

It isn’t okay to be who you are, if you’re someone who speaks your heart wherever you go. This world will eat you right up. And, it sure as hell isn’t okay if you’re someone who think people mean everything they say. I was that person for a very long time. For those of you out there who actually believe in that, it’s time you look at life from a different perspective. Nothing has ever hurt me more than finding out how wrong I’ve been about someone. Because, for a head strong person like me, being right is everything.

Have you ever met a new person and just connected instantly? And you can almost see them in your future with you? What I didn’t realize was no one really speaks their mind. Whatever they say is very far from reality. This trusting nature has landed me more disappointments than I can count. A little innocence is good but being so trusting doesn’t really get anywhere.

When people ask a question, the truth isn’t always what the want. Sometimes giving them what they want is the best thing you can do. And most important of all to every girl out there who’s got a boy making her feel bad about herself: Boys will always be obnoxious. Even the good ones! They have a different way of life and entirely different personalities. Your wants and needs are entirely different from his. And, as for the bad ones, no guy is cute enough to be allowed to make you feel less than you are! Love life, don’t waste a minute of it over insecurities. 🙂

Feminism Unleashed.

Long walks on a deserted street in the dark. As fun as that sounds, dangerous is the go to word to be describe it lately.
Hell Yea!

It’s time for some seriously due feminism.

I have a curfew of 6 PM. I’m not even allowed to go to school by myself. I rarely get to hang out with my friends, and when I do, it’s at the most closely located pizza joint. You know why? Because I am a GIRL.

People have asked this question over endless eons, and I’m going to as well, again!

How is this fair?

As expected, you’ll say, no, it’s not! And I’m jus wondering here. How does that help me? Or any other girl? All the posts by the “understanding” men out there who think the undermining of the feminine gender should come to an end and how men should use their stronger physique to protect women and not over power them – they just sicken me.

People talk, they talk a lot, but they apparently do nothing. Except for offending me more by the day that is! A part of this world, a part of the male part of this world, actually understands and wants to do the right thing. Women can work as equals to men. They are given the same opportunities, yada yada. But, the EXACT same people are the ones who say, “she’s a girl!  If she can’t apologize why should I?” when they have a disagreement with their girlfriends. Or, “She actually thinks that she can pick a fight with me? She’s a girl!!” and the best, my personal favourite, “if a girl can get that pissed, watch me!”

I mean, what is up with that? Seriously? I get this impression that we are some kind of lowlives to whom the world is generous enough to give a few important rights and that we should repay them by being eternally grateful. And when one of us is nuts enough to ask the question, “Am I supposed to be submissive and let people be sexist to me?” all we get is an apparently obvious and oh did I forget to mention unsaid, “DUH!”

You think I’m pissed now? Oh! Wait till I finish. As if this wasn’t bad enough, they had to make it worse with the frigging movies! I seriously have to ask, does it just mean that you’re heartless if you’re a woman? Why does every movie, specifically Indian movie, portray the lead female role as the heartless, undecisive, “pretty” girl who just breaks the guys heart out of vanity! That is then followed by the song where he trashes and curses the girl and speaks of how evil she is and that song becomes an international sensation. I’m sorry, I didn’t know we were turning a blind eye to everything that men do.

These are just stuff that have to be said. And no I’m not going to be polite because I’m a “girl”. I want the big rights, I want the small ones, I want everything I deserve. And I deserve everything because I am a woman. A self-righteous one at that!
