Swept Away

An adrenaline junkie with the heart of an adventurer. She toughed it out in desert storms. Survived deadly blizzards.

But with him, the tables often turned.

With a single smile, he swept her away every day.

7 Cheats to having a Perfect Day

  1. Wake up on the right side of your bed. Apparently there is a wrong side, so the other one must be the right side.
  2. Better yet, don’t wake up. Sleep in all day. It’s fool proof. Not a thing can go wrong when you’re asleep.
  3. If you have been forced to wake up, start off with some yum grub. Food is the next best thing after sleep.
  4. Go on a long walk. Maybe even run. Running from your problems is a really effective way to stay happy. I’d know! I’ve been doing it for 19 years.
  5. Take a nice long shower while contemplating cruel ways to punish those who dare to annoy you.
  6. When you’re choosing what to wear, make sure your clothes are of idiot repellent fabric. If there are chances of a shower of stupidity in the daily forecast, you don’t want to get any on you.
  7. Before you leave the house make sure you grab some tolerance and ignorance. It has to be of the right balance other wise it won’t work. Then wrap it up with a sense of humour so that it lasts all day!

Shopaholic

The thin line between want and need,

Wavers at the brink of greed.

Horde until you’re no longer empty.

Buy enough to keep yourself busy.

Little bit of that,

Some more of this.

Anything you set your sights on,

You wouldn’t dare miss.

Those nature lovers never understood your plot.

Who said happiness cannot be bought?

BEING A DOG OWNER – 101

Finding that perfect little ball of fluff to take home must feel like the greatest joy in the world. And it is! 🙂 But, there are a few things I’d like to bring to your attention before you drown in a river of excitement.

  1. If you look at that teeny-tiny-drooling-marshmallow in your arms, it might seem like he’s as cute as a teensy button. But it isn’t for long. You cannot possibly imagine how something so small can eat SO MUCH, and more importantly POOP SO FRIGGIN’ MUCH! So get a shovel and be prepared. They go from marshmallow to giant beast in months!
  2. Do you fantasise about those dreamy walks you long to take with your pupper? Well, they’re all gonna come true. Except you’ll be doing it about a million times a day ‘cuz he is always gonna need a wee.
  3. How soft is his shiny mane? Don’t you just wanna cuddle up against that cozy fur? Well, you can do a lot of that ‘cuz it’s going to fill up your house. You don’t even want to know how much worse it can get in shedding season.
  4. The kisses you love now will soon turn you into a slobbery pile of mush. YUP. Imagine getting slobber over your prom dress. Ain’t so pretty, is it?
  5. The jumping up and down to welcome you home soon turns from cute to traumatic when he shoves you to the ground with one little hug. 😀 They’re almost ALWAYS excited.
  6. If you’re eating and he’s not, you’re going to have to make it through a lot of begging. A LOT.
  7. If you’re overwhelmed already, what will you do when you get to bath time? Shampoo everywhere. Wet dog hair everywhere. Your house is now your pupper’s pool partaaay! He will give you a bath before you’re done with his.

So yeah, getting a dog = a lot of work. But there’s something else you should know. He will be the best thing that ever happened to you. He will make your make your life so amazing that the amount of work won’t seem like much. Because you just found yourself a best friend. 🙂

Here’s a picture of my adorable, little munchkin.

He’s not very little anymore, but he is still just as adorable. 🙂

Procrastination

One night, when the Internet was alive
I went in for a long-awaited dive
I could’ve instead gone for a walk
Or met a friend for a nice talk
I could’ve played my part for world peace
Or done something to save the trees
I could have started on my long list of chores
Hit the books or so much more
But this night the Internet was alive
And I just had to take that dive.
